When to Go

The hottest season in the Galilee and Tiberias is the summer, in May, June, July, August, September and October. You will experience the most rainfall in December and January.

Money

Israel’s currency is the shekel. You can change money (cash and traveler’s checks) in banks, post offices, licensed exchange bureaus and some hotels. If you have an international credit card, you can also withdraw money from ATMs.

Safety

Israel is a very safe country to visit and explore. In 2008, 3 million tourists visited Israel, an all time record, and 3 million returned to their homes safely.

You can walk around Tel Aviv at all hours of day and night. Reasonable precautions are always a good idea.
