OLD JAFFA / NEVE TZEDEK / CARMEL MARKET / ANU MUSEUM
 
  • Begin the day in Old Jaffa, one of the world’s oldest port cities. Walk through its winding alleys and stone archways, where history, legend, and faith converge above the shimmering Mediterranean Sea.
  • Continue to Neve Tzedek, the first Jewish neighborhood built outside of Jaffa’s walls. Today, its restored 19th-century homes, tree-lined streets, and boutique shops tell the story of Tel Aviv’s beginnings , a meeting point of tradition and creativity.
  • Proceed to the bustling Carmel Market, where sounds, scents, and flavors fill the air. This vibrant open-air market offers a taste of Tel Aviv’s cultural diversity and daily life, from fresh produce and street food to spices and sweets.
  • End your day at the ANU Museum of Jewish people (Diaspora museum) with interactive exhibits celebrating Jewish history and culture.

Explore Beit Guvrin & the Gaza Envelope

BEIT GUVRIN / GAZA ENVELOPE
 
  • Begin the day at Beit Guvrin-Maresha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its incredible ancient underground city, bell caves, and olive presses.
  • Continue to the Gaza Envelope, where the events of October 7, 2023 left a deep and lasting impact. Visit a lookout over the Gaza border to understand the proximity and vulnerability of the communities living here. Then stop at a roadside shelter along Route 232, where Aner Shapira displayed remarkable heroism while saving others. Visit the Nova Festival site near Re’im, where a peaceful gathering was transformed into a scene of unimaginable tragedy. Pay respects and hear the story of the young lives lost and the resilience shown in its aftermath.
  • In Sderot, visit the site of the city’s former police station, one of the first places targeted during the assault and a symbol of the fierce battles that took place.

  • Enjoy a free day of Shabbat! You may explore Tel Aviv, the city that never sleeps!
  • Discover the famous boardwalk along the Mediterranean Sea.
  • Tel Aviv is home to numerous art galleries, cafes, and museums, as well as the beach! The Tel Aviv Museum of Art is a very highly rated institution, while the Eretz Israel Museum offers a historical perspective on the history of Tel Aviv.
  • For those who prefer to shop, there are several shopping malls that open after the end of Shabbat till late night.
  • Stroll along the famous tree lined Rothschild Boulevard, and take in the magnificent villas and buildings occupying the most expensive real estate in Tel Aviv.

Day 6 - Sunday

Caesarea

CEASAREA / HAIFA /NAZARETH
 
  • Embark on a captivating coastal drive to Caesarea, a former Roman capital built by Herod the Great in honor of Augustus. Explore the fascinating excavations of the Roman port and aqueduct, and marvel at the restored theatre overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
  • Continue to Haifa and enjoy breathtaking views from Mount Carmel, overlooking Haifa’s Bay. Gaze at the iconic Bahai Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its golden dome and beautifully landscaped gardens.
  • End the day in Nazareth and explore the revered Church of the Annunciation, where the Angel Gabriel announced to Mary of her divine pregnancy with Jesus.

  • Continue through the Golan Heights to a vantage point overlooking the historic Valley of Tears, a site of strategic significance in modern Israeli history. Before concluding your expedition, make a stop at the Golan Winery, where a wonderful wine tasting awaits you.

Day 8 - Tuesday

Sea of Galilee and the Jordan Valley

SEA OF GALILEE / BEIT ALPHA / JORDAN VALLEY / QASR EL YAHUD
 
  • Head out on a captivating day, starting by the Sea of Galilee with a visit to Capernaum, the town where Jesus gathered his disciples, and home to St. Peter.  Here, you can marvel at the ruins of the ancient synagogue and the beautiful octagonal Church of St. Peter.
  • Continue to Tabgha, site of the Miracle of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes, and ascend the serene Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount.
  • Drive south to the Jordan Valley and stop at Beit Alpha, an ancient Jewish town from Talmudic times. Admire the remarkable mosaic floor of the ancient synagogue, depicting the captivating zodiac.
  • Continue to Qasr El Yahud, the traditional baptism site on the Jordan River.

Day 9 - Wednesday

Jerusalem Old City

  • Start the day with a magnificent panoramic view from Mount of Olives, offering a stunning overlook of Jerusalem’s historic skyline, including the Dome of the Rock and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
  • Next, head to the magnificent Old City to explore the Tomb of King David and the sacred Room of the Last Supper on Mount Zion.
  • Enter the walled city and stroll through the newly restored Jewish Quarter, discovering the remnants of the Roman Cardo, an ancient Roman road.
  • Make your way to the Western Wall, the last remains of the Jewish Temple, and follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, believed to be the site of Jesus’ crucifixion and tomb.
  • Conclude your day with a visit to Bethlehem*, birthplace of Jesus. Walk through the Manger Square to visit the Church of Nativity, one of the oldest operating churches in the world.

Jerusalem

  • Today we will drive to the esteemed Israel Museum and explore the remarkable Shrine of the Book, where the ancient Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed. Marvel at the intricate miniature model of Jerusalem during the Second Temple period.
  • Pass by the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, and proceed to Mount Herzl, Israel’s national and military cemetery named after Theodor Herzl, burial place to many of the nation’s leaders and heroes.
  • Pay respects at Yad Vashem, the official memorial to the Holocaust.
  • Dive deeper into Jerusalem’s history with a tour of its vibrant New City neighborhoods. Wander through narrow alleys, listen to captivating tales, and uncover the rich tapestry of the city’s past that shaped its foundations.

Day 11 - Friday

Masada and the Dead Sea

JUDEAN DESERT / MASADA / DEAD SEA
 
  • Drive through the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, almost 1300 feet (400 meters) below sea level.
  • Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada.
  • Ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans before committing mass suicide in 73 A.D.  Descend by cable car
  • Continue to the Dead Sea;  Cover yourself with the mineral rich mud and experience a swim in the Dead Sea* that many believe has its therapeutic effects (*weather permitting).

  • Today is a free day to enjoy the special atmosphere of Shabbat in Jerusalem. You may want to discover some museums and re-visit the Christian Quarter in the Old City.

Negev Desert & Eilat

  • Journey deep into the heart of the Negev Desert to the Vidor Center for Desert Agriculture, where cutting-edge research and innovation focus on sustainable farming in arid conditions. Discover how technology and tradition combine to grow food in one of the world’s harshest climates.
  • Continue to Timna Park, a stunning desert landscape known for its towering sandstone formations, ancient copper mines, and prehistoric rock art. The dramatic vistas and historical sites provide a unique glimpse into the Negev Desert’s natural and cultural heritage.

Day 14 - Monday

Eilat or Optional Day in Petra

  • After breakfast enjoy a free day in Eilat. This resort city lies on the shores of the Red Sea, Israel’s most southern point.
  • On a clear day you can see neighboring Jordan and Egypt.
  • You can swim in the Red Sea, or enjoy other water activities, including numerous ecological preserves.
  • You can even meet and pet dolphins at Dolphin Reef!
  • For those who prefer to be on the water and not in it, there’s yacht sailing.
  • There are camel tours, AV tours, and Jeep tours of the scenic desert, and so much more!
  • There are also the beautiful botanical gardens, and several amusement parks for the kid in you.

Optional Day Tour to Petra, Jordan including Lunch:
After breakfast, enjoy a full Day tour to the ancient city of Petra, Jordan. You will be transferred from your hotel to the Arava border point, cross into Jordan, and drive to Petra. Petra was established possibly as early as 312 BC, though it was only rediscovered in 1812. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was also chosen as one of the Smithsonian’s ’28 Places to See Before You Die’ list. A visit to Petra is one of the true highlights of any trip to the Middle East, with its red tinged city carved by the Nabataeans out of solid rocks, remaining exquisitely preserved even to this day. Petra can be entered on foot or in horse drawn carriage. After your visit to Petra, we will stop for lunch in a local restaurant before returning to the border. If time permits, we will also make a short stop in Aqaba before crossing into Eilat.

  • At the end of the day, you will be driven back to the Arava border and transferred back to your hotel in Eilat.

Eilat Underwater Observatory and the Ramon Crater
