Jewish Heritage Day Tour of Jerusalem

This full day Jewish heritage tour will allow you to experience the highlights of Jerusalem. Start your tour with a stop at the tomb of King David on Mount Zion. From there you will visit the Cardo, the site of the remains of the wall of Jerusalem from the 1st Temple Period, the Jewish Quarter, and the four Sephardic Synagogues. Next you will enjoy the Davidson Center and the Southern Wall excavations, the Wailing Wall, and a visit to the ultra orthodox community of Mea Shearim. At the end of the tour you will have the opportunity to visit Mount Herzl and Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum. Tour #7

Departures: Weekly Monday and Thursday departures and you are picked up at your hotel or you may request a pickup spot.

Tour Itinerary:

• We will start the tour with a magnificent overview of Jerusalem and the Judean Desert from Mount Scopus, near the Hebrew University Campus.
• We will drive to Jerusalem’s Old City to visit the Tomb of King David on Mount Zion.
• Next we will walk along the Cardo, the ancient Roman road and view the remains of the wall of Jerusalem from the 1st Temple Period.
• We will then visit the Jewish Quarter and the four Sephardic Synagogues from the 16th Century, restored after the 1967 war.
• After that we will visit the Davidson Center, tour the southern Kotel excavation, and visit the Western Wall, the Kotel, and join the Bar-Mitzvah ceremonies.
• We will then proceed to Mea Shearim and learn about the unique lifestyle of the ultra orthodox communities.
• Next we will drive to Mount Herzl, the military cemetery and Yad Vashem, the memorial to the Holocaust.
